As the managing partner at Five Rainbows Services for Authors and Publishers, I recently began offering to interview our many, varied, and talented clients about themselves and their books. I hope you enjoy reading these interviews as much as I have enjoyed working with these writers — and don’t forget to check out their books, too!
Here are the interviews, with the most recent ones listed first:
Neil Moran discusses his two north country gardening books, his writing motivation and background, self-publishing and its challenges, and the interesting ways he’s found to market and fund his books.
Rich Hill discusses his two books, his path to becoming a published writer, the books that have inspired him, some lessons-learned for other would-be self-publishers, and his upcoming writing projects.
Janelle Hooper discusses her six completed novels, how she came to write a one-man play about Geronimo, her future writing plans, how she uses social media platforms for marketing, and her thoughts on self-publishing.
Rich Levine talks about his first book, Island Eyes, Island Skies, how it came about, and the messages he hopes his middle-school audience takes away from the book. Rich is contemplating at least one more book.
Cliff Feightner discusses his path to self-publishing and why he wrote fascinating true story of his and his wife Lynn’s journey to Germany for a long, overseas tour with a Fortune 500 company. Cliff is currently at work on two more books.
Oral Husemoen McDanel, a 96-year-young writer who has written a great series of children’s books. So far, she’s written The Merrykins and The Merrykin Runaways, but she has already begun work on the third in the series. Her personal writing story is a wake-up call to anyone who thinks they’re too old to start writing!
