“Remember” – Free Short Story
There’s been a lot of discussion, hand-wringing, Monday morning quarterbacking, and self-righteous condemnation over the video of a few young Marines urinating on the bodies of dead enemy combatants. It’s easy to sit back in your comfortable chair, cross your arms, shake your head, and say these kids should be punished to the max for such a “horrendous” act. Rather Shorts – Gentle Tales of Small-Town Crime
Well, today I wrapped up the fourth short story of a planned five that will be published as an eBook titled Rather Shorts. The main character is Chief of Police Orin Cage, who strives to maintain law and order in the small North Texas town of Rather (pop. 4,000 give or take a few). He’s assisted, although sometimes Orin feels it’s more like hindered, by his chief deputy Bobby Lee Reynolds. Continue reading
